Q: I don't have an option in my profile to display an avatar. How can I get one?

A: Send a PM to an administrator, and we'll enable that option when we get a chance.

Si beuno.

Q: How do I post a picture on the board?

A: Use the following template:

Code: Select all

The easiest way to do this is to highlight the image URL, and click the "Img" button above the message body.

Q: I have a picture on my computer I want to post/use as an avatar. How do I do that?

A: You'll need to host the picture somewhere. There are several sites that will do this for free, including:

Follow the instructions on the site to upload your picture. When you're finished, the site will provide the URL for your picture, and you can post it, following the directions in the answer above, or enter the URL in the appropriate box in your profile to use it as an avatar.

Q: How do I resize an image for posting or avatar use?

A: Some hosting sites have built-in options that allow you to resize pictures automatically when you upload them. However, the most universal way is to use photo-editing software. All computers that run Windows have the "Paint" program (which you can usually find by clicking Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> Paint). Open the image in this program, then click "Image -> Stretch/Skew" to shrink or enlarge the picture by percentage. You can check the picture size by clicking "Image -> Attributes." When your picture is the appropriate size, simply save and host it.
